Ultrasonix Medical of Burnaby, British Columbia, will bring its newly released Sonix CEP to Chicago. The compact, portable ultrasound system is designed specifically for emergency medicine, critical care, and trauma situations.
Sonix CEP powers on in seconds and contains up to 30 minutes of rechargeable battery life, allowing for movement from room to room to treat multiple patients at the point of care, according to the company.
The scanner also features the QSonix Quick Exam Wizard, which gives emergency medical personnel one-touch access to major applications, probe selection, specific application presets, and autopopulating patient data. Specialized worksheets and specific presets for emergency medicine, a barcode reader, and onboard training videos are part of the package.
With its Sonix Live wireless video streaming, Sonix CEP enables emergency medicine physicians to share images with hospital staff in other departments for second opinions and accurate diagnoses. The system's storage capacity and reporting capabilities also are designed to help physicians manage patient data more efficiently, the company said.
