Siemens opens Pa. ultrasound factory

Siemens Healthcare has opened a factory in Plymouth Meeting, PA, that will manufacture the company's new Acuson Freestyle ultrasound scanner.

The Freestyle system is designed for use with wireless transducers, according to the company.

This is Siemens' second ultrasound manufacturing facility in the U.S.; the other is located in Buffalo Grove, IL.
