GE Healthcare is partnering with Endra Life Sciences to develop Endra's Thermo Acoustic Enhanced Ultrasound (TAEUS) system.
The technology enables existing ultrasound systems to visualize tissue function and composition and monitor therapeutic interventions at the point of care. TAEUS could noninvasively quantify fat in the liver for diagnosing fatty liver disease, Endra said.
Under the terms of the agreement, GE will provide equipment and technical advice and facilitate introductions to GE Healthcare clinical ultrasound customers, the firm said. In return, Endra will grant GE certain rights of first offer with respect to manufacturing and licensing rights for the target application.
