Hitachi Aloka Medical America announced that it's incorporating its Arietta 70 and Arietta 60 ultrasound systems into iVu Imaging's Sofia 3D whole-breast imaging device.
The Arietta platform and its long linear transducer will allow iVu's Sofia system to acquire 3D radial images of an entire breast in nearly half the time of previous systems, the company said.
Hitachi Aloka will begin shipping Sofia-capable Arietta 70 and Arietta 60 systems in the U.S. this month, and will be offering a software upgrade to existing Arietta customers soon, according to the firm.
