Philips has announced the launch of its new point-of-care (POC) portable ultrasound system.
The company's portable Flash Ultrasound System 5100 POC was designed for the needs of anesthesia, critical care, emergency medicine, and musculoskeletal imaging in frontline settings, Philips said in a statement. It allows clinicians to perform and document exams in real time without waiting for formal imaging orders, the company noted.
The new system incorporates AI, smart automation, and touchscreen controls, as well as featuring cross-platform transducer compatibility, which includes the mL26-8 ultrahigh frequency linear array transducer with musculoskeletal applications.
It integrates with Philips' POC ecosystem (including Lumify and Compact 5000) and teleultrasound tools such as Collaboration Live, and is now available around the world.
In addition, Philips said that it has released two new AI applications that have been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Lumify systems.
