Mammography and x-ray firm Instrumentarium has named Hannu Ahjopalo to the newly created position of executive director for corporate development and new strategic ventures. Ahjopalo, who joined Helsinki, Finland-based Instrumentarium in 1977, most recently served as director of the patient monitoring business area. He also handled corporate marketing of the vendor's Datex-Ohmeda unit. In his new post, Ahjopalo will work to rapidly identify and pursue new business opportunities, especially in applying new networking and wireless technologies to the vendor's core businesses.
