Prostate treatment device provider EndoCare has applied for Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance to market its CryoGuide system for use with the vendor's CryoCare targeted cryoablation cancer treatment.
CryoGuide is a software-controlled ultrasound planning and mapping system that allows the physician to visualize the target tumor in three dimensions, allowing for precise placement of the probes used to freeze and destroy the cancer, according to the Irvine, CA-based firm.
