Fujifilm Medical Systems USA of Stamford, CT said Texas Health Resources has chosen Fuji's Synapse PACS software for its enterprise-wide image and information management system. The software-only installation is one of Fuji's largest integrated delivery network (IDN) contracts to date, according to Clay Larsen, the firm's vice president of marketing and network development. Irving, TX-based THR owns more than 20 healthcare facilities, including acute care, specialty, and outpatient centers.
Synapse will initially be installed at two hospitals, Presbyterian Hospital of Allen, TX, and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Presbyterian Hospital of Allen will open as a new filmless facility and distribute images to the radiology, ER, OR, and ICU departments, according to Fuji. The system will enable "broker-less" ADAC MARS II RIS connectivity, DICOM compliance, and facility-wide image distribution, Fuji said.
In addition, Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas will begin integrating Synapse into its ADAC MARS II RIS, according to Fuji. New and legacy modality acquisition will be provided for online and permanent storage of images and data, as well as distribution to the radiology, ER, and two ICU departments, according to the vendor. The remaining THR facilities will migrate to Synapse over the next several years.
