Digital x-ray developer Hologic has won a contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs – National Acquisition Center to provide DR systems and related equipment for VA medical centers and other government healthcare facilities.
The award covers two Hologic amorphous selenium-based digital x-ray systems: Radex, designed for ambulatory and outpatient radiography, and Epex, a general radiography system. The deal also includes digital upgrades built around the Hologic detector and the company’s inverse topography software, which allows radiologists to look at both soft tissue and bone detail in the same hard- or soft-copy image, according to the Bedford, MA-based vendor.
