Agfa-Gevaert's Medical Imaging business has been renamed Agfa HealthCare. The change reflects Agfa's move into new markets and a wider business scope as it pursues an aggressive growth strategy, according to the Mortsel, Belgium-based vendor.
Agfa hopes to evolve from its position as a key player in the medical imaging arena into a major force in the hospital informatics market, said John Glass, general manager of the group. The company will roll out its new business name and positioning this fall through a worldwide advertising and public relations campaign.
