Dear AuntMinnie Member,
As 2006 draws to a close, many imaging professionals are looking with trepidation to the New Year. Major challenges are facing the discipline in 2007, ranging from the draconian reimbursement cuts of the Deficit Reduction Act to renewed turf battles with other medical specialties over control of imaging technology.
But the medical imaging community also has much to be thankful for as 2007 dawns. Perhaps no other medical discipline is as vital, dynamic, and rapidly changing as ours. Medical imaging's role in the patient management process is only bound to grow as new technologies are developed that can detect disease at increasingly earlier stages -- saving lives in the process.
Despite the cloudy outlook, the medical imaging community is certain to display its adaptive spirit in 2007 and will continue to grow and thrive, as it has for decades. In a world of uncertainty, that much is for sure.
As we sign off for 2006, the staff of AuntMinnie.com would like to thank you -- our readers -- for helping make the year the most successful one yet for our little Web site. The community you have created is truly remarkable, and it has won recognition not only in medical imaging but also within the broader healthcare community, as exemplified by a recent award bestowed on AuntMinnie.com.
In what's become an annual tradition, we've compiled a list of the Top 10 articles on AuntMinnie.com over the course of the past year, as measured by the number of page views they've received. The list is an excellent way to see what was hot in radiology in 2006. To view it, just click here.
Thanks again, and best wishes for 2007!
