AuntMinnie.com Software Center Insider

Dear Software Center Insider,

As you're reading this, chances are you're decompressing after this week's RSNA meeting in Chicago. Of course, the 2007 edition of the conference had its share of the big-iron scanner introductions that are the RSNA show's bread and butter, but it also demonstrated the increasing importance of software to the practice of medical imaging.

From advanced visualization software to computer-aided detection (CAD) applications to radiology worklist management tools, radiology professionals are relying on software as never before to manage the growing deluge of data and increasing complexity of their daily lives.

Much of this software is available for download on the Internet, and that's where AuntMinnie's Software Center comes in. Every listing in the Software Center represents an application for which you can download a demo or trial version -- or even the entire app -- over the Web.

Recent additions include Xebra, a Java-based application designed to securely transmit and review images over a network; Quick Dicom Toolkit, which provides DICOM support for Mac OS X 10.5; and D-Blaze, an application for manual burning of DICOM disks.

If you're a software developer and would like to have your software added to the Software Center, just fill out the form by clicking here. Remember, your software must be available over the Web or otherwise via electronic means to qualify for listing.
