  1. What is the product ratings and reviews Buyer’s Guide feature?
The product ratings and reviews feature is very similar to ratings and reviews that you have seen on other sites like Amazon.com where members can provide their personal feedback and experience about various products to help other members in their decision-making process.
  2. The AuntMinnie.com system uses the familiar 5-star system. Users will choose a rating between 1 and 5 stars for four different categories specific to the equipment or service being rated.  The average of these choices becomes the overall product rating.  An example of these categories might be Image Quality, Functionality, Reliability, and Service and Support.  The default choice is 3 stars for each category.  This score, along with how many people who have rated or reviewed it, will be shown by the product listings in the Buyer’s Guide. 3. When will the ratings and reviews feature be implemented on AuntMinnie.com?
This is scheduled to go live on March 24, 2009. (top)

  4. What is the difference between a rating and review?
A rating is the number of stars a member assigns to a particular product with 5 stars being the best product rating. A review is an evaluation that a member writes about their experience with a product to provide additional information about their opinions regarding the product. (top)

  5. What steps is AuntMinnie taking to protect vendors from fraudulent or malicious reviews?
No rating and review system is perfect but AuntMinnie.com has implemented some verification questions to help ensure that the reviews provided are genuine and done in good faith. Each user will be asked two questions prior to their reviews being made live on the site. These questions are:

  6. A: I am a vendor.
A "yes" answer has the effect of cancelling the rating or review.

B: I understand and agree that I may be contacted to verify that I am a user of this technology and am not a vendor.
A "no" answer has the effect of cancelling the rating and review. (top)

  7. What happens if a review is posted that we believe is malicious or fraudulent?
If a review is posted that a vendor feels is malicious or fraudulent you may send an e-mail to [email protected] and request that it be appealed. AuntMinnie.com will work with you to determine whether the review violates the terms of service and should be edited or removed. (top)

  8. What should we do to prepare our Buyer’s Guide listings for this change?
AuntMinnie.com recommends that all Buyer’s Guide vendors review their product specifications and listings to ensure all of the information is updated and current. If you have questions about this or need help accessing your product listings please contact [email protected] for additional help. (top)
