A group of Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) have approved coverage of AI-enabled analysis of quantitative coronary topography (QCT) scans for Medicare recipients with symptoms of coronary artery disease (CAD).
MACs provide coverage for 34 million Medicare beneficiaries, and the policy will go into effect on November 24 in the Palmetto GBA, CGS Administrators, National Government Services, and WPS administrative group, according to AI software developer Cleerly. The company noted the the policy would cover use of its Cleerly Labs plaque analysis software for patients with acute or stable chest pain with no known CAD, and CAD-RADS 1 to 3.
