AI firms to establish research platform

A coalition of firms working on artificial intelligence plans to establish an industry-wide research collaboration platform called the Alliance for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (AAIH), according to founding member Insilico Medicine.

Initial AAIH members include companies that represent areas of AI infrastructure and applications in healthcare such as biomedical discovery, clinical research, diagnostics and devices, and precision medicine. The coalition's purpose will be to serve as an industry advocate by shaping public policy, appropriate regulation, and market access for products developed for AI in healthcare, Insilico said.

Founding AAIH members include the following:

  • BenevolentAI
  • BlackThorn Therapeutics
  • Buck Institute for Research on Aging
  • Cyclica
  • Envisagenics
  • GE Healthcare
  • Insilico Medicine
  • NuMedii
  • Numerate
  • Owkin
  • Recursion
  • University of Pittsburgh

The AAIH will officially launch in January 2019, according to Insilico.
