Fujifilm and the National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry in Tokyo are touting the performance of the company's artificial intelligence (AI) system for predicting Alzheimer's disease. The results of the study were published April 12 in NPJ Digital Medicine.
Fujifilm said the technology, called AI Technology for AD Progression Prediction, had 88% accuracy in predicting whether patients with mild cognitive impairment will progress to Alzheimer's disease within two years. The AI identified regions from 3D MRI brain images that are strongly correlated with the progression of Alzheimer's disease.
