Canon USA will showcase a work-in-progress color display for mammography images that is being developed by its parent company, Canon Inc., at RSNA 2014.
Canon Inc. intends to file a 510(k) application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the display, but no assurances can be given that it will do so or that the display will be made available for sale in the U.S., the firm said. It is currently contemplated that the display will be a 30-inch, 10-megapixel (4,096 x 2,560-pixel) color display for mammography, which is subject to change.
Canon and women's imaging vendor Hologic both will feature the work-in-progress display in their booths during RSNA 2014.
