Web-based PACS developer Algotec will announce an application service provider (ASP) sales model at this week’s Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society meeting in Dallas. With this model, Algotec will receive and store on its own hardware the medical image data from participating healthcare facilities.
To obtain an imaging study and corresponding report, physicians can access Algotec's server from their PC with proper security authorization. Doctors will receive the image, as well as all the tools necessary to process it, through Java technology, according to the Raanana, Israel-based firm.
