PACS firm Imageon Solutions has announced an agreement with BellSouth's healthcare division to co-market Imageon's Web-based enterprise archiving service to the healthcare industry. Under the terms of the deal, BellSouth will co-market the Birmingham, AL-based vendor's DICOM image archiving capabilities with BellSouth's networking and Internet offerings.
Through the agreement, healthcare facilities will be able to outsource the management of archiving software and hardware to Imageon, which then will deliver the archiving service in an on-site/on-line or off-site/on-line configuration, according to the firms. Imageon's customers will be charged a subscription fee on a per-diagnostic-study or procedure basis for the life of the archived image. BellSouth will provide the necessary wide area network (WAN) infrastructure and services.
