PACS software developer ALI Technologies has released version 2.0 of its Clinical Reporting structured reporting software for ultrasound applications. The new release features a structured database architecture running on the Oracle 8i platform, and supports the complex queries used in academic research and department workflow analysis, according to the Richmond, British Columbia-based firm.
Used in conjunction with the vendor's UltraPACS version 4.2 image management system, Clinical Reporting enables users to complete a patient report while simultaneously viewing ultrasound images, according to ALI. Completed reports are distributed to referring physicians via network printers, autofax, or the Internet when used with UltraWeb, the firm's teleradiology application. Completed reports become part of the archived patient file and can be accessed at any time. The new version is already in use at five clinical locations in the U.S., according to ALI.
