PACS component provider Emageon (formerly Imageon Solutions) has announced that GE Medical Systems has selected the Birmingham, AL-based firm’s Web-based enterprise-archive software to handle large-scale storage of diagnostic images for GE’s new application service provider (ASP) PACS service. The archive software, called e-CIMS, is a pure Java application that works with a variety of high-end relational databases, according to Emageon.
