Howtek medical sales grow as company trims loss

Film digitizer manufacturer Howtek has announced revenues of $2 million in its second quarter, up slightly over the $1.9 million reported in the same period in 1999. For the quarter (end-June 30), the Hudson, NH-based vendor had a net loss of $258,000, compared with a net loss of $344,000 in the second period last year. Medical sales were a bright spot, with reported revenues of $628,000 in the second quarter, up 50% from the $420,000 posted in the second quarter of 1999.
