Cedara revenues, earnings fail to meet expectations

PACS and image-guided surgery firm Cedara Software has announced that revenue and earnings for its fiscal fourth quarter and year will likely come in below expectations.

Based on preliminary review of unaudited results, the Mississauga, Ontario-based firm indicated that it would likely report fiscal 2000 revenue between $37.7 million (U.S.) and $39 million for the year, compared with $31.6 million in fiscal 1999. Cedara will likely report a net loss between $3.6 million and $4 million, compared with net income of $1.2 million in 1999.

In its fourth quarter, Cedara expects to report revenue between $8.1 million to $9.4 million, compared with $9.7 million in the same period last year. The company anticipates a loss between $4 million and $4.4 million for the period, compared with net income of $608,000 last year. Cedara expects to release its final results on September 13.
