MarkCare to unlock new corporate structure

Mark Solutions said it plans to separate its PACS subsidiary MarkCare Medical Systems from its jail-cell manufacturing operation, Mark Correctional Systems. The Bloomfield, NJ-based vendor believes the potential value of MarkCare could greatly exceed the current market capitalization of the combined entities.

Over the past three years, MarkCare has grown from one PACS installation to 40 sites worldwide, according to the firm. MarkCare had revenues of $1.7 million in fiscal year 1999, and hopes to exceed $10 million in revenues in the calendar year 2000.

The company said it plans to consult with its investment bankers in the near future to determine the best way to separate the operating units and capitalize on MarkCare’s potential.
