Tandberg brings tele-ultrasound to Hawaii

Norwegian telemedicine firm Tandberg has announced that it will be providing its Health Care System III (HCS III) to Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu. HCS III will be used to provide tele-ultrasound services for women with high-risk pregnancies, according to Tandberg.

The $1.8 million project will consist of 10 sites on four islands in the Pacific Basin, and is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Technology Opportunities Program (TOP). Tandberg claims that the tele-ultrasound network will be the first of its kind in Hawaii.
