Analogic revenues, income surge in Q4

PACS and imaging component provider Analogic has turned in record fiscal fourth-quarter revenues. For the period (end-July 31), the Peabody, MA-based firm had revenues of $89.2 million, up 29% from the $69 million reported in the fourth quarter of 1999.

The company had net income in the fourth quarter of $5.4 million, compared with net income of $3.9 million last year. Strong growth in shipments of both medical and industrial products paved the way for the record quarter, according to CEO Bernard Gordon.

Analogic shipped its first digital radiography (DR) systems to an OEM partner in the quarter, and also experienced stronger than anticipated demand for new mid-range CT systems from another partner, Gordon said.

For the fiscal year, Analogic had revenues of $297.6 million, up 6% over the $279.7 million posted last year. The company did have a decline in net income, however, dropping from $19.5 million last year to $14.1 million.
