MarkCare lands $2.4 million contract

MarkCare Medical Systems will provide a filmless radiology network to Houston Healthcare Complex, a 230-bed acute care site in Warner Robins, GA. Bloomfield, NJ-based MarkCare received the contract through its partner, Data General. MarkCare will integrate its PACS software with HHC’s existing Meditech Magic hospital information system, the company said.

The system will enable rapid access to any radiographic image in any HHC location to any physician requiring it, and will transmit images to radiologists on call 24 hours a day, according to MarkCare. The firm expects to complete the installation by the first quarter of 2001.

In other MarkCare news, the firm will announce other new distributor agreements shortly, according to Carl Coppola, CEO of MarkCare’s parent company, Mark Solutions.
