Siemens Medical Systems announced that its clinical networking division has reported sales of more than $50 million in the second half of its fiscal 2000. The bulk of the orders were complete PACS networks, including diagnostic workstations, computed radiography (CR) readers, image distribution software, and archiving capabilities, according to the Iselin, NJ-based vendor.
Other projects included the installation of PACS diagnostic reading workstations with archiving capability and review workstations, according to Siemens. The vendor also reported more than $2 million in revenue from its PACS Non-Obsolescence program, which is designed to help customers protect their PACS and IT investment by insuring against hardware and software obsolescence. The program allows customers to acquire Siemens PACS technology and obsolescence protection at a fixed price.
