Canadian PACS software developer ALI Technologies has released version 2.1 of its NewPort DICOM image acquisition system. NewPort 2.1 features expanded cine capture capabilities, enhanced print functions, and a smaller size, according to the Richmond, BC-based vendor.
With its small footprint chassis, NewPort can now be mounted on any imaging device, and can fit within the thermal printer bay of an ultrasound scanner, according to ALI. An optional cine tool on NewPort 2.1 can capture up to up to 10 minutes of prospective cine, and up to 30 seconds in retrospective mode. Single or multiframe images are archived in DICOM-compliant JPEG compressed format, according to the firm.
In other new features, NewPort 2.1 converts frame-grabbed images or video output into high-resolution digital images, which can then be sent across a PACS network or output to a color or grayscale printer. The images can also be stored on a system’s hard drive or on removable media, ALI said.
