PACS software and image-guided surgery provider Cedara Software reported 2001 fiscal first-quarter revenues of $6.9 million (U.S.), down 14.5% compared with the $8.1 million posted in the same period in 1999. Cedara also fell sharply into the red during the quarter (end-September 30). The Mississauga, Ontario-based firm had a net loss of $6.5 million, compared with net income of $196,000 last year.
Cedara’s Imaging and Information Solutions revenues declined 24% to $5.1 million because of a decline in software licensing revenue, the company said. In positive signs, the firm’s Surgical Navigation Specialists business grew 33%, to a record $1.8 million in sales.
