Scottish 3-D software firm Voxar has strengthened its ties to connectivity developer DeJarnette Research Systems of Towson, MD. Under terms of the agreement, DeJarnette will include Voxar's Plug 'n View 3D software into its VisiShare systems, adding volume-based image processing tools for clinicians and radiologists, the companies announced.
Voxar's volume-based 3-D imaging tools will help physicians better visualize complex anatomy and pathology not easily seen on traditional 2-D images, according to Alan Orth, DeJarnette's vice president of marketing. DeJarnette produces several types of VisiShare image display products, ranging from desktop systems to advanced radiology display stations, according to the company.
Collaboration between the companies began in 1998, when Edinburgh, Scotland-based Voxar first incorporated DeJarnette DICOM into its medical imaging software. VisiShare 3.0 will be displayed at next week's RSNA meeting at DeJarnette's booth, #2155. Voxar will display the latest feature set for Plug 'n View 3D at booth #6944.
