Applicare upgrades OEM product offerings

GE Medical Systems Information Technologies’ Applicare Center of Excellence debuted several new products at last month’s RSNA meeting, including the latest version of its RadStore digital archive. The new version includes support for Windows 2000, expanded storage capacity, support for DVD-R/DVD-RAM, and integration of the company’s WebViewer application and new service tools. Scripting wizards have been added to simplify the customization of RadStore archives, according to Applicare.

In other product enhancements, version 5.1 of RadWorks WebViewer features a conferencing ability that allows for synchronization of study states between two WebViewer clients, including panning, zooming, windowing, and remote mouse cursor functions, according to the vendor. In work-in-progress developments, the company showed a multimonitor configuration of WebViewer. A new multiresolution feature will send pixel data as it is requested, according to the company.

Applicare demonstrated the latest release of its RadWorks software using the Windows 2000 platform. Voice recognition has also been incorporated, thanks to integration with products from Talk Technology.

Applicare also displayed a work-in-progress version of RadWorks in a combined color and monochrome high-resolution configuration. This release offers new features such as color palettes and regional calibration for ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and PET imaging applications, according to the firm.

Applicare has also added a system health page and support for DICOM’s soft-copy presentation state. In addition, the company previewed its structured reporting and workflow solution via its participation in the RSNA's IHE demonstration.
