Kodak Health Imaging turns in modest growth

Eastman Kodak’s Health Imaging division reported sales of $581 million in its fourth quarter (end-December 31), up 2% compared with the fourth quarter of 1999, and up 7% after adjustments for currency fluctuations. Earnings from operations were $123 million, essentially level with a year ago, according to the Rochester, NY-based firm’s year-end financial statements.

Sales of digital products in the Health Imaging unit were up 9% compared with last year, with the growth partially offset by declines in sales of traditional products, according to the company. DryView media product sales were up 40%, while PACS sales surged 44%.
