Imaging toolkit developer Lead Technologies has formed Medicor Imaging, a new business unit aimed at the medical imaging market. Medicor will provide products and services to support the medical community’s migration to digital imaging, according to the Charlotte, NC-based firm.
Medicor Imaging will further develop and continue to market Lead’s existing medical toolkits, which consist of Leadtools Medical Imaging and Leadtools Medical Imaging Suite, according to Lead. Medicor Imaging will also offer professional services that include specialized training in DICOM and other areas, as well as consulting and contract programming. In the future, Medicor plans to include DICOM utilities that will enable better connectivity between medical imaging systems.
The division will be headed by Gabriel Pislaru and Bruce Dennis, who will both serve as managing directors. Pislaru was Lead’s DICOM development project manager, while Dennis began working with the company in November to determine the feasibility of a separate medical imaging unit. Medicor will initially be based at Lead’s headquarters in Charlotte.
