GE Medical Systems Information Technologies has added a radiology information systems offering to its portfolio by purchasing Per-Se Technologies’ ProgRIS product. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
GE is no stranger to RIS technology, having been active in integrating its PACS software with that of other RIS vendors. At the 2000 RSNA meeting, the Waukesha company showed integration with RIS software from IDX Systems, as well as with partner Cerner (featuring a single RIS and PACS user interface). In addition, the vendor markets a RIS called Medora in Europe.
