Sunquest Information Systems is developing a new business-to-business Web subsidiary called Diagnostix.com. The site will enable healthcare facilities to communicate medical information to patients and other physicians over the Internet.
The Tucson firm talked up the new portal at last week's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society meeting in New Orleans.
Still in the development stage, Diagnostix.com will be set up as a centrally hosted application service provider (ASP) that will serve as a repository for clinical information. Physicians will be able to access data regardless of their location, according to the company. Diagnostix.com plans to roll out online viewing of laboratory information first, with beta installations set to begin at the end of February.
Diagnostix.com is headed by former Toshiba and GE executive Ravi Sharma, who is vice president and general manager of the subsidiary.
