PACS developer RamSoft has integrated its Ultrapro PACS software with information management technology from medQ to create an integrated RIS and PACS offering, according to Toronto-based RamSoft.
The combined PACS and RIS includes an HL-7-compliant RIS for scheduling and information management, a DICOM worklist server, DICOM acquisition stations for imaging modalities, automatic matching and routing of studies, and multimodality diagnostic review stations.
Additional features include voice recognition and transcriptionist reporting stations, as well as workflow management software. There is a Web server for remote access to images and reports, and a digital archive, according to RamSoft. The system can synchronize data across multiple sites, and interfaces with any PACS, HIS, RIS, and billing system, according to the firm.
The companies are marketing the integrated system to ultrasound and x-ray departments in independent clinics, clinic groups, and community hospitals, according to RamSoft. It will be available as a turnkey system, as an application service provider (ASP) model, or as a separate software package.
