Image management firm eMed Technologies has contracted with digital security/privacy provider Guardent to audit eMed's products and services for continuing compliance with the privacy and security standards put forth in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Guardent of Waltham, MA, has provided eMed with a security and privacy roadmap to help accelerate corporate compliance and help eMed understand how HIPAA will effect customers, according to eMed. Once all HIPAA provisions are finalized, Guardent will perform a gap analysis of eMed's complete product line to ensure compliance, according to eMed of Lexington, MA.
