PACS developer Merge Technologies has unveiled MergeWeb Healthcare 3.0, the latest release of its Java application, development, and deployment platform. Milwaukee-based Merge said MergeWeb Healthcare 3.0 offers substantial productivity and scalability improvements over currently available development environments. The application also is hardware, operating system, and database independent.
MergeWeb Healthcare is being sold as a software license to other healthcare technology companies. The first client to use MergeWeb Healthcare 3.0 will launch a commercially available healthcare information system in the first half of this year, according to Merge president and CEO Richard Linden.
