Agfa has released its Impax for Cardiology image and information management system. Previewed at last year's American College of Cardiology annual meeting, Impax for Cardiology features an integrated digital server, workstation, and archive designed specifically for cardiology.
Impax for Cardiology has completed successful trials at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. The system allows for the integration of cardiology with the enterprise, including the radiology and hospital information system, according to Ridgefield Park, NJ-based Agfa. Cardiologists can view various imaging modalities both inside and outside the cardiology department.
Impax for Cardiology includes optimized cine viewing and a cardiologist-designed graphical user interface, according to Agfa. On-demand access to images, data, analyses, and reports from any workstation in the network is also provided. The desktop is customizable, and the system has CD writing capability with an embedded DICOM viewer for transport and review of images on any PC, Agfa said.
Impax for Cardiology also includes archive media and technologies for economical storage and rapid retrieval, according to the vendor. In addition, customers can call on the firm's Impax for Cardiology connectivity services, according to Agfa.
