PACS developer eMed Technologies has released eMed Ideal Image Management (I.M.) version 5.1.1. The new release features what eMed calls Wide Access, which gives radiologists on-demand workflow over low-bandwidth wide-area networks such as the Internet, but with LAN-like performance, according to eMed.
Version 5.0 of Ideal I.M. featured an on-demand PACS architecture to allow radiologists instant access to all studies from any workstation, according to the Lexington, MA-based firm. With the new release, radiology groups can achieve the same capability from their remote locations as well, according to the firm.
