eMed customer to add WAN capability

Las Vegas radiology group Desert Radiologists is planning to expand its large-scale image management system with wide-area, on-demand capability using eMed Technologies' Ideal Wide Access offering.

Desert Radiologists will add Ideal Wide Access to its Ideal enterprise-wide image management system, which includes an archive, RIS integration, centralized on-demand architecture, and Web distribution of images and reports for referring physicians, according to Lexington, MA-based eMed.

With Ideal Wide Access, radiologists will be able to have instant access to all current and historical studies, as well as patient information from any facility, with LAN-like performance, according to the vendor. Upon completion of the project, radiologists sitting at many sites will be able to select studies from a common worklist.
