PACS and connectivity firm Merge Technologies has released the Java version of its MergeCOM-3 DICOM toolkit. The new release brings the added flexibility of the Java programming environment and Java classes to MergeCOM-3, enabling new Internet applications to be developed, according to the Milwaukee-based firm.
Siemens Medical Solutions of Erlangen, Germany, has been a beta user of the Java version. Overall, 150 companies have been using MergeCOM-3 for the past seven years in the development of radiology and information systems, according to Merge.
