Healthcare information technology firm IDX Systems will provide its IDXrad v10 radiology information system and IDX Imaging Suite to the University of Michigan's University Hospital, an 800-bed facility that conducts 350,000 radiology exams annually.
IDX Imaging Suite will improve workflow, decrease exam turnaround time, and allow bi-directional communication and seamless integration between IDXrad and the medical center's third-party PACS, according to Burlington, VT-based IDX. The integration of patient and clinical information from IDXrad with the third-party modality facilitates the transition to a paperless and filmless radiology environment, according to the vendor.
IDX also believes that integrating IDXrad v10 and the IDX Imaging Suite can eliminate the need for manual entry of patient and exam information at the modality, streamlining workflow and reducing the potential for orphaned or mismatched images.
