Marconi Medical Systems introduced its IntelliView Web image and information distribution tool at this month's Symposium for Computer Applications in Radiology in Salt Lake City. With IntelliView Web, clinicians can gain secure access to reports and images, according to the Cleveland-based vendor.
IntelliView Web uses a combination of authentication, encryption, and access controls to enable real-time user validation, according to Marconi. It also comes with a "setup wizard" and online help to assist first-time users in accessing patient data via the Web.
Three configurations of IntelliView Web are available: Clinical Image Distribution, Clinical Results Distribution, and Cardiac Scoring Distribution.
Clinical Image Distribution sends and receives 12-bit images for remote-study diagnosis, allowing clinicians to consult with radiologists, according to Marconi. Clinical Results Distribution provides key 8-bit images and text-based reports to referring physicians, while Cardiac Scoring Distribution works in conjunction with Marconi's HeartBeat-CS CT calcium scoring package to receive and distribute cardiac scoring results.
In other Marconi SCAR developments, the company reaffirmed its commitment to deploy Talk Technology's speech recognition, digital dictation, and report tracking software in its PACS product line. Talk was purchased by Agfa in April, but will continue its OEM relationships and support. Marconi has a long-term contract with Talk, and continues to provide input in testing and product roadmap discussions, according to Marconi.
