PACS vendor Agfa has signed a contract to provide Offenbach Hospital in Germany with its Impax PACS network, along with various other digital systems to manage images and patient data. The Mortsel, Belgium-based firm will be offer the PACS via a usage and provision contract with monthly payments, rather than an outright purchase.
The five-year contract covers the use of hardware, software, services, maintenance, and ongoing software upgrades. Agfa values the contract at approximately $1.8 million (U.S.).
Following installation, modification, and application work, routine operation in the radiology department of the Offenbach Hospital will probably begin in December, according to Agfa. By then the hospital's clinical departments will be connected to the data network.
