PACS firm eTrauma has completed installation of its first Florida-based OfficePACS system. The Florida Orthopaedic Institute (FOI) in Tampa, FL, is using OfficePACS, which is designed to bring PACS capabilities to medical offices and clinics. With OfficePACS, physicians can view DICOM images in each examination room as well as in the physician area of the office, according to eTrauma.
FOI is also using the Deerfield Beach, FL-based firm's RemoteImage technology to provide a digital imaging capability for the Tampa General Hospital's ER and OR departments. RemoteImage securely transmits medical images via the Internet to eTrauma's central Web server for remote viewing. Physicians can then view patient x-rays by logging on to eTrauma.com from anywhere, according to eTrauma.
