Microboards gets approval for medical use of CD-R media

CD and DVD provider Microboards Technology has received Food and Drug Administration clearance to market its CD-Recordable media for medical use. Chanhassen, MN-based Microboards said it intends to deploy its optical media in the medical market for imaging and storage. The CD-R media, which are manufactured by Japanese firm Taiyo Yuden, will be available through Microboards' channel of integrators and value-added resellers (VARs) serving the medical sector, according to the firm.
