Web-based image management firm Image Medical has merged with Allentown, PA-based image management developer and radiology services provider eRad. Through the combination, the two firms will be able to offer a single-source offering for image capture and management, secure storage, and diagnostic reading services, according to Image Medical president and founder Stephen Friedman. In late 2000, Palo Alto, CA-based Image Medical had cancelled a planned merger with PACS firm Avreo.
