StorComm has introduced version 4.1 of its ImageAccess clinical image management system. The new release includes new features designed to improve workflow and provide easier access to patient information, according to the Jacksonville, FL-based firm.
ImageAccess 4.1 includes support for the HL7 CCOW patient link standard, which provides access to clinical images in a CCOW-compliant electronic patient record system, according to the firm. The software also supports the creation of teaching files, removing identifying patient information from the source exam.
StorComm has incorporated support for clustered server environments in ImageAccess 4.1, providing customers protection from complete server failure, loss of data, workflow position, or loss of physician productivity, according to StorComm. In other storage enhancements, ImageAccess can now archive to two different devices simultaneously, offering redundant exam storage.
In addition, ImageAccess now offers import/export of DICOM-compatible exams to a DICOM interchange directory for greater system flexibility. It can also create CDs containing patient information to export data to other DICOM-compatible devices and systems, according to StorComm.
A Windows Explorer-type interface has been included to provide improved workflow in accessing patient information, worklists, folders, DICOM interchange directories, and other required information, according to the firm. ImageAccess also now supports DICOM's modality performed procedure step (MPPS).
Thanks to WYSIWYG print capabilities, StorComm said that ImageAccess can now print images as they appear on the workstation display. StorComm has also bolstered ImageAccess' image manipulation capabilities, including the ability to simulate the actual size of the subject in the image on both the soft-copy display as well as hard-copy print. It can also display a 1 pixel to 1 pixel ratio on both the soft-copy display and the hard-copy print.
